The price depends on the boiler chosen, whether the position is changing, and whether the system needs a flush or upgraded controls. We survey first and quote in writing, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay.
What the installation covers
Correct sizing
The boiler is sized to the heat loss and hot water demand of the actual property. An oversized boiler cycles constantly, runs less efficiently and wears out sooner.
Flue routed and tested
The flue is installed to the manufacturer instructions with correct clearances from windows, doors and boundaries, then checked for integrity before commissioning.
System protection
We fit a filter and treat the system so debris from the old pipework does not end up in the new heat exchanger. This is the most common reason a new boiler fails early.
Controls and commissioning
Thermostat and controls are set up correctly, the boiler is commissioned on a flue gas analyser and the readings recorded, so it leaves running as the manufacturer intends.
Certification and notification
You receive the commissioning documentation and warranty registration, and we notify Building Control as required for a new gas appliance.
What matters on a boiler replacement
Most new boilers that fail early do not fail because of the boiler. They fail because debris from old steel pipework and radiators is pushed through a brand new heat exchanger. Cleaning the system and fitting a filter at the point of installation is what protects the appliance, and it is why we will not skip it to shave money off a quote.
Sizing matters just as much. A 35kW combi in a two bedroom flat is a common sight and a poor choice — it short cycles, wastes gas and shortens its own life. The right size comes from the heat loss and the hot water demand, not from a rule of thumb.
Installing a gas boiler is notifiable work. It must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer and notified to Building Control, which is what registers the warranty and gives you the compliance certificate. Work done outside that route leaves you with an appliance you cannot evidence and a warranty that may not stand.

A like for like combi swap is usually a single day. Moving the boiler to a different position, or converting from a conventional system, typically takes two days.
Yes. A new gas boiler is notifiable work. We notify it, register the manufacturer warranty and provide you with the compliance paperwork.
On most replacements, yes. Debris from existing pipework is the main cause of early failure in a new boiler, and manufacturers can decline warranty claims where the system was not cleaned. We advise honestly on what your system needs.
That depends on the appliance and the manufacturer, and typically runs from several years to over a decade. We register it for you on completion and tell you what it requires, usually an annual service, to stay valid.
